Description

The U.S. Army RDECOM-Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Program Manager- Special Operations Forces Survival Systems (PM-SSS), Natick, MA has a requirement for a c ommercially available (Commercial Off The Shelf) Load Carriage System (LCS) citing the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures utilizing FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation . This is for a family of 25 Different Lo ad Carriage Systems and accessories. Salient characteristics will be released with the solicitation. Vendors must be capable of delivering items utilizing the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) marking system. Production Demonstration Models (PDM)s shal l be provided with proposals (1 PDM per each accessory, Salient Characteristics are to be provided at time of solicitation release). Each vendor may submit up to two proposals. The government anticipates making multiple awards, but reserves the right to m ake one or no awards. This will be a Full and Open Competition. The NAICS code for these items is 339999, and the business size standard is 500 employees. This is not a request for proposals (RFP). The Government intends to make multiple awards on a Firm- Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract as a result of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government anticipates a five year ordering period. The anticipated total minimum requirement is 100 with a maximum requirement o f 40,000 Kits total. Comments relating to this synopsis should be submitted via email to Ms. Judy A. Collier, at judy.a.collier@us.army.mil, no later than November 27 2007. The Government anticipates releasing the RFP on or about November 27 2007.
