- Medical Technician / Coder Services Requested: Professional medical coding. DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS: Furnish temporary medical coding services, two persons/ forty hours per week for approximately (1) Year at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Office Center, 215 North Main Street, White River Junction, VT. . SCHEDULE: The performance period of this task order is on or about December 3, 2007 through September 19, 2008. Statement of work : Performs quantitative analysis of records to ensure all components of the records are present, accurate and comply with VA and JCHAO requirements. Ensures all documentation is present in appropriate format and sequence, identified and signed to meet JACHO and VA requirements. When incomplete or inconsistent information is identified, the MRT will enter deficiencies into Incomplete Record Tracking in VISTA and will contact the appropriate administrative or professional person in order that the record can be coded, abstracted and completed in a timely manner. Codes diagnoses, operations and procedures (inpatient and outpatient), which requires the incumbent to be knowledgeable in a variety of coding systems, using the International Classification of Diseases- Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT-4) and HCPCS Code Book (HCPCS) insuring completeness and conformance to accepted VA Regulations, JCAHO requirements, ICD coding conventions, and guidelines for optimal Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) assignments.
