- Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and quality assurance necessary to install safety devices on 3 boilers located in utility plant building 10 in order to comply with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) directive 2003-050 and to comply with VA central office contracted inspection firm Boiler Efficiency Institute's recommendations, in accordance with the following specifications: 1. Performance of the following work; a. modify piping of low water cut out LWCO) to allow auxiliary LWCO to have separate connection at vessel; b. rewire limit string to assure the only automatic recycling interlock is the operating pressure control. All other interlocks shall create a lockout; c. modify gas trains to include lockable test cocks, which includes: (1) adding a low gas pressure switch to pilot line; (2) adding lockable shutoff valves to nitrous oxide vent lines; (3) changing main gas safety shutoff valves to incorporate proof of closure switches; d. modify oil lines, which includes: (1) adding oil pressure switches; (2) adding atomizing differential pressure (DP) switches; (3) adding proof of closure switches on main oil valves; e. relocate combustion air switch sensing line from wind box to burner register; f. furnish and install combustion air DP switch and two separate sensing points; g. furnish and install current relays to forced draft (FD) fan interlock circuit; h. furnish and install micro-switch to create physical interlock at air linkage damper; i. furnish and install new low furnace pressure interlock switch; 2. all work is to be in accordance with the National Electric Code/any other applicable codes; 3. dispose all debris caused by this work off station; 4. perform thorough cleaning of any area affected by this work when work has been completed. Patch/repair/paint as necessary any building components/equipment/furniture damaged due to this work; 5. coordinate work with Rodney Hackman, Utility Plant Supervisor @ 717-272-6621 x4707
