Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Headquarters, Washington, DC, has a requirement for an on-site demonstration of a flat panel system that may display 60 inches or greater. This can be any COTS DLP, Plasma or LCD unit that small details may be easily viewed from a distance of 25 or 30 feet without difficulty. This demo will be to an FAA group of four to six people at the vendor's site. The type of procurement contemplated is a Small Disadvantaged Business under the 8(A) Program. The requirement is being considered for the replacement of up to 26 displays over a two or three year period of time. The unit(s) can be similar to what is offered by Sanyo, Pioneer, Barco, Mitsubishi. The unit(s) must be capable of displaying information, 24 /7/365 days a year. Multiple displays sizes above 60" or models may be offered for demonstration. FAA would like written copies of any of the following: ??? Test papers or test results that may have been performed on the units. ??? Technical Specification and/or Cut Sheets ??? Failure rates or MTBF and the operating conditions to which they apply ??? Any routine maintenance required and how often ??? Requirements for field replaceable items (Low Frequency Maintenance Kits, Bulbs, maintenance contracts) ??? Warranty Options (Standard and extended) and cost ??? Computer or Networking compatibility ??? Bulb (Lamp) Life expectancy ??? Bulb (Lamp) cost ??? How many bulbs are needed ??? Brightness Uniformity ??? MSRP ??? Lens requirement(s) ??? Filter(s) requirement Can the suppliers products be purchased directly from the manufacturer of must they be purchased from a distributor? Only companies demonstrating their product(s) are expected to be afforded an opportunity to compete for an award on any future procurements under this request for market survey. Does the supplier have an office or contact to sell directly to the government? The Government anticipates selecting three vendors from the respondents for the FAA on-site visit demonstration. The selection of the three vendors will be on a subjective basis based on the overall functionality of the product and best value to the Government, all factors considered. Things to be considered are as follow, but not limited to: ??? Display Clarity ??? Ability to receive and display multiple sources of input on a split screen simultaneously. ??? Sound (side or front mounted speakers) ??? Various levels of Lighting ??? Display Brightness ??? Display Contrast, ??? Display Resolution On-Site Demonstrations will be targeted for two to three weeks after closing of the market survey period. FAA would like any media CD or DVD demonstrations of their products that meet the above requirements prior to an On-site demonstration if available. The FAA will not pay for any costs associated with the preparation of responses or information provided in response to the Market Survey, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs incurred by any party responding to this announcement. Therefore, any costs associated with the Market Survey submission are solely at the interested parties' expense. Purpose of Announcement: To conduct a market survey of interested sources under this requirement. Interested vendors should submit to the Contracting Officer a statement of interest no later than 29 November 2007, 12:00 P.M. EST at: kenneth.m.carter@faa.gov.
