- Description
- The National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), is seeking proposals to provide a mechanism to archive and distribute excess tissue from non-human primates (NHP) that have been euthanized for research or humane purposes. Tissues shall be both flash frozen without fixation and fixed and embedded to fit the needs of a wide range of molecular and histochemical techniques. This is an existing requirement that will continue to provide a rich research resource to many investigators and contribute to a reduction in the number of NHP needed by the research community, as multiple investigators will be able to take advantage of each animal. It is anticipated that a cost-reimbursement type contract with options, consisting of one base year and four option years, will be awarded on or about September 1, 2008. The solicitation will be issued on or about December 3, 2007 and will be posted on this website. Offerors are responsible for routinely checking this website for any amendments to the solicitation. Proposals will be due approximately 60 days after the date of issuance of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Government. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541712. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract.
