- Description
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration?s (NASA) Kennedy Space Center (KSC) will hold a site visit on November 16, 2007 for the Mail Distribution Services Contract (MDSC). This acquisition has been set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSBC). The NAICS code for this procurement is 492210 with a size standard of $23.5 million.KSC is planning to issue a Draft Request for Proposals (DRFP) in the November 2007 timeframe. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. Interested SDVOSBC companies are encouraged to register and attend the site visit. More information on the site visit, and the registration form are provided on the NAIS and FedBizOpps websites. All communications with prospective offerors regarding the MDSC will be conducted through the NAIS and FedBizOpps websites. Companies are requested to provide any comments or questions in writing via electronic mail at lourdes.brown-1@nasa.gov Telephone inquiries will not be addressed. This solicitation will succeed the current KSC mail distribution portion of the Joint Base Operations Support Contract (JBOSC), which will expire in September of 2008. The MDSC will provide the following services: Daily pick-up and delivery of mail, messages, and other related items (such as boxes and film canisters) to approximately 1,070 mail stops Internal and external mail processing NASA mail metering Classified mail handling Shuttle program courier service ADP daily delivery runs Operating a Contract Branch Post Office (including remote postage machines and letter drop boxes) Coordination of mail schedules, pick up, delivery, lost/misdirected mail, and other comparable items affecting a postal and distribution facility with postal authorities in Orlando, Titusville, Cape Canaveral, and Cocoa Beach FL, and other NASA installations.
