Description
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order on a non-competitive sole source basis to Smiths Detection, PO Box 410, 30 Hook Mountain Road, Pine Brook, NJ 07058. FDA will purchase the following options and accessories which includes advanced proprietary software, one (1) .5M entrance /exit roller table, one (1) 1M entrance/exit roller table and one (1) four year extended warranty. The advanced options software package includes OTS X-train (testing and training simulator), IMS (image storage system), HI-Tip (testing and training program), HI-Spot (automatic identification of Highly Dense Materials) and X-ACT System (automatic detection of suspicious Materials via atomic weight). These items are necessary and will be used with the Smith Heimann HI-SCAN 9075. Smith Heimann is the sole manufacturer of the HI-SCAN 9075 system and associated proprietary software to be purchased. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
