- Description
- The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to procure the upgrade of two (2) Rotor Heads for the Whirl Tower. It is the intent of the government to procure these supplies from Erickson Air Crane, Inc., 3100 Willow Springs Rd, Medford, OR, on a sole source basis using a Firm Fixed Price contract. Erickson Air Crane, Inc (EAC) is the only known certified Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) source that has the technical knowledge and experience with an authorized parts inventory to provide the required supplies in a turn-key, in-house operation without having to outsource for parts and repair services. Sikorsky is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), but they no longer maintain an inventory of replacement parts and components. The OEM recommended that FRC East use EAC as an authorized source for parts for the Depot?s existing rotor-head assembly. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
