Description

ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to FEI Company, 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive, Hillsboro, OR 97124-5830, for an agreement to maintain an Environmental Scanning Microscope. This procur ement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. FEI is the only vendor who can provide the service because FEI holds the patented tech nology and no other vendor can provide parts because of their proprietary nature. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writin g to the identified point of contact no later than 1000 hrs Central Time Zone on 31 October 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining by the government not to compete this procurement on a competitive b asis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response t o this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
