Description
This requirement is for design, fabrication, performance, and acceptance testing of the Relay and Reduction Optics (RRO) system which will be used in a sensor test chamber operating under simulated deep space vacuum, temperature, and background radiation conditions. This procurement will include a three-optical-component assembly that will provide the proper interface between a dual resistive emitter array projection system and an existing collimating optical system to produce an IR radiation projection system referred to as the Short Focal Length Collimator (SFLC) system. The SFLC will complement the current collimating optical system in 7V that has a much longer focal length and thus has limited projection over the desired field of view (FOV). The RRO optical system design must address analysis of IR radiometric throughput and spectral issues; mounting techniques for precision optics; low temperature thermal and thermo/structural design and analysis; selection and preparation of optical materials for cryogenic application and repeated thermal cycling; and control of contamination and optical surface scatter. The performance of this optical system shall be demonstrated under high-vacuum, cryogenic operational conditions prior to final acceptance at AEDC. Delivery of the Relay and Reduction Optics is expected within 24 weeks following contract award. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to AEDC, Arnold AFB TN. This acquisition involves technology that has a military or space application. Only businesses that have been certified by the Department of Defense, United States/Canada Joint Certification Office, and have a legitimate business purpose may have a copy of the solicitation document. All requests for copies of the solicitation document must include a certified copy of DD Form 2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. The solicitation package will be mailed to the data custodian identified in Block 3 of the DD Form 2345. To obtain certification, contact: Commander, Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS), ATTN: U.S./Canada Joint Certification Office, 74 Washington Avenue North, Battle Creek, MI 49017-3084 or call the DLIS at (800) 352-3572. The DLIS United States/Canada Joint Certification Lookup service is available via the Internet at: www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/default.asp. The DD2345 may be faxed to 931-454-7330 or your certification number may be emailed to karen.hillstead@arnold.af.mil NO LATER THAN 10 November 2007.
