- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitation is not available at this time. A request for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Field Acquisition Office (FAO) is conducting market research for the Federal Correctional Institution Bennettsville located near Bennettsville, SC in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 10. The FBOP/FAO intends to make an award for the provision of a post secondary education program (vocational training - welding). The contractor will make available, on a nondiscriminatory basis, two cycles (350 hours/cycle) of vocational training during the base year and all option years. The contractor will provide a curriculum for the program, delivered on a not-for-credit basis and is not applicable to a A.A./A.S. degree. The course will be designed to prepare inmates to be qualified at a minimum for an entry level welder's helper in electric arc and gas during the contract period. It is estimated that the class size will be 15 students. Contractor to provide services which include: (1) classroom and application instruction, Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 11:00am, or other hours as agreed to by the Supervisor of Education. All contractor staff assigned to provide instructional services must have certification in the welding field in addition to BA/BS degree. They must also have at least two years teaching experience in a classroom setting. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. All information concerning this requirement will be distributed solely through the General Service Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The site provides downloading instructions. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The response date for the market survey is November 9 2007. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written requests for the market survey will be accepted. All responses to the Market Survey Questionnaire may be submitted in hard copy to the above listed address.
