- This is a sources sought announcement. The Department of Veteran Affairs is conducting Market Research to determine if there are adequate Small Business Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Small Business Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns capable of providing all parts, labor and equipment to perform 2 semi-annual service, testing and inspections to the kitchen cooking hood suppression systems in the Dietetics, NHCU, Recreation and Canteen kitchens at the VA Medical Center, 50 Irving Street, NW, Washington, DC. This is not a request for interested parties to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND MUST NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP), OR AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A SOLICITATION. The objective for this effort is for interested parties qualified to perform these services. Company must send Name and Address, telephone number, and business size along with list of three references to which similar types of services have been previously provided to include contract number, dollar value, and name and phone number of customer. The company must be state licensed to be able to perform this type of service, have a current and valid state mechanical license and be certified to perform these tests by a state registered agency and provide supporting documentation. NFPA 17 and 17A must be followed when performing these services. The references must be relevant to the requirement and be within the last three years as of December 1, 2007. The references must also include a description of the services rendered under that contract and demonstrate ability to provide services to the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541350 and the small business size is $6.5 million. This procurement action will be issued on an unrestricted full and open basis if it is determined that no capable small service-disabled veteran owned businesses, small veteran-owned businesses or small businesses exist that can provide the services required to the VA Medical Center listed in this announcement.
