- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. The reference number for this acquisition is FM285572637000. The solicitation document and incorporate provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-12 (4 Aug 2006) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement change notice 20060814. It is the Offeror?s responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 339115 with a size standard of 500 employees. This commercial acquisition is for the purchase of various standard ophthalmic lenses. The United States Air Force of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks AFB, TX, is planning to contract for Prescription Ophthalmic Lenses of various prescriptions such as Single vision finished Polycarbonate 73mm 2.0 ct lens inventory, Single vision finished industrial 70mm 3.0 ct lens inventory, Semi Finished Single Vision CR-39 76mm, Semi Finished 7X28 CR-39 76mm, Semi Finished ELINE CR-39 78mm, all of which are of various prescriptions and all must be of Sola lens. The type of contract anticipated is firm-fixed price. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. This procurement is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business.
