- Description
- Sources sought to produce "Synthetic haircloth" for all services including Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard. This "Synthetic haircloth" is use in Coat Fronts for Military Dress Coats. The "Synthetic haircloth" yarns shall be fabricated as follows: The Warp shall be singles yarn; the fiber content shall be 100% cotton, or any combination of polyester and cotton, or from 45 to 100 percent polyester with the remaining percentage rayon, and a Minimum of 50 ends. The Filling shall be 100% nylon or polyester mono-filament and a Minimum of 41 picks. The Weight shall be a Minimum of 5.4 ounces /yd2 and the Stiffness (filling direction) from 0.055 to 0.14 load pounds. The following test methods shall be used for verification of requirements:
