Description
The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality, Life Cycle Management Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting a market survey to identify potential contractors capable of providing a Maritime Gunfire Detection System. The Maritime Gunfire Detection System must be able to detect sniper fire, provide alert data (bearing and range to the point of fire), and alert the user through visual and/or audio display. The system must be able to integrate on a Special Operation Craft Riverine (SOC-R). The technology should be developed with the capabilities for engineering field tests within 12 months. Desired performance characteristics are: 1. Detection field of view of river banks 2. Operate in all weather conditions (i.e. rain) 3. Operational range: Minimum 300 meters 4. Weapons, ammunition types and scenarios a. Various weapons that fire 5.56mm and 7.62mm sized ammunition b. Identify calibers 5. Probability to detect and alert (bearing and range 80%) 6. Bearing error less than +/- 10 degrees of actual range 7. System Size, Weight and Power a. Size- No more than 3??? in length b. Weight- less than 20 pounds c. Power- Must operate on 12-24 VDC Interested parties that believe they can meet the requirements shall provide the U.S. Army with a quad chart and white paper limited to 10 pages describing the concept, capabilities and limitation(s). All proprietary material should be clearly marked and will be deemed confidential by the U.S. Government. The white paper must be single-sided with double-spaced text, page size no larger than 8 ?? x 11 inches, font size no smaller than 12 point, one inch left and right margins, 1.25 inch top margins and 1.0 inch bottom margins on all pages. Paper shall also include a brief summary of the company???s capabilities in research and development, testing and manufacturing. Respondents should include: Company name, address, point of contact information, telephone/fax numbers, email address, company size (large/small/disadvantaged/ woman owned, etc). All responding sources must submit their responses no later then 19 November 2007 to US Army, JM&L LCMC, Acquisition Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, Attn: Carmen Lindstrom or Carmen.Lindstrom1@US.Army.mil. This is a market survey and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey and is financial responsible for the submission of information.
