Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for Hotel Accommodations and Hotel services for the period of December 2-14, 2007, located in the geographic area of Baltimore, MD. The Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal agency and therefore exempt from any taxes. The tax exemption document will be provided upon award of the contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefit Administration, Office of Employee Development and Training will be participating in the Introduction to Leadership (ITL),Course # 2008-2. The breakdown for hotel accommodations are estimated as follows; Sunday 12/2 (31); Monday 12/3 (33); Tuesday 12/4 (33); Wednesday 12/5 (33); Thursday 12/6 (33); Friday 12/7 (30); Saturday 12/8 (30); Sunday 12/9 (34); Monday 12/10 (34); Tuesday 12/11 (36); Wednesday 12/12 (31); Thursday 12/13 (31); Friday 12/14 (Depart). Based on the breakdown described, the total rooms requested are 389 each. The following are the requirements for this solicitation; ALL offerors submitting quotes for this requirement must include Duns and Bradstreet Number and indicate whether or not their agency is registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). All, the offerors must include the RFQ number on their quote; otherwise your quote will be considered unresponsive. The website for CCR is www.ccr.gov. Also, the offeror must be in compliance with the American Disability Act (ADA). Additional hotel requirements are No penalty for rooms not used; Hotel must have 4 Star or 4 Diamond rating; Within 6 blocks of the training site, Banquet facility, with podium, microphone and capability to provide on-site banquet for 40 people. Provide the following within room cost: Private 1-1/2 hour welcome reception on Monday night, December 3rd; 6-7:30 PM. Ability to provide banquet meal at or below meal per diem rate of $29 per person on Thursday, December 13th from 6-9PM. Provide high-speed Internet access,24X7, in each sleeping room at no additional charge. All rooms must be individual /private sleeping rooms with toilet facilities smoke free, microwave, refrigerator at per diem rate or lower for Baltimore, MD. Hotel must have availability to lodge all participants in one hotel and have washer and dryer on site. Provide shuttle service between hotel and training site .Provide networking/study room to accommodate, nightly, 26-30 people for networking and homework. Hotel must have on- site fitness center or privileges with the fitness center. Hotel agreements shall use the best value procurement method in the acquisition of hotel accommodations, commodities and services. The contracting group issuing the solicitation document shall, in cooperation with the user or using office(s), determine what criteria shall be used in the evaluation of offers received for the award of contract. The award contract shall be a contracting officers decision based on varying factors such as price, location, etc. In developing the proposal, the Offeror shall comply with the requirements stated in this solicitation by answering yes or no to each requirement as listed above. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD WITHOUT DISCUSSIONS. Therefore, each offeror is urged to examine this request for quote in its entirety and to ensure that their quote contains all necessary information, provides all required documentation, and is complete in all aspects. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
