- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make award, to a responsible quoter for the provision of Optometry services for the Federal Correctional Complex, 2225 Haley Barbour Parkway, Yazoo City, MS 39194. The contract period shall consist of a base period from date of award through 12 months, and four one-year option periods for renewal at the discretion of the Government. All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Optometry services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. The contractors performance shall be monitored by the COTR and the contractor must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds. The contractor shall conduct various optical examinations, treatments and provide written reports. The contractor shall be experienced as an Optometrist and be a graduate of an accredited school of Optometry. Finally, the contractor must also possess and maintain a current license and registration for the state of Mississippi. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 621320, with a small business size standard of $6.5 million. Services will be performed for individuals who are in the custody and care of the Federal Bureau of Prisons within a secure correctional environment. Yearly contract requirements include an estimated 832 exams per year. The solicitation will be available on or about October 29, 2007 and will be distributed solely through the website at www.fedbizopps.gov. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments will be distributed through the website. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is November 30, 2007. The solicitation is restricted to small business sources. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contract for which they are eligible.
