- Description
- Furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials and perform all work for removing between 450 cubic yards and 570 cubic yards of deteriorated and/or damaged concrete from the north and south lock chamber walls at Eisenhower Lock in Massena, New York, and replacing it with steel reinforced concrete. Concrete shall be removed to a depth of between 9 inches and 30 inches. There is vertical steel wall armor embedded in the north lock chamber wall in the work areas at 33 inches on center (i.e. approximately 25 inches between pieces of wall armor). The work is to be performed in the lock chamber approximately 50 feet down from the top of the lock wall and 50 feet up from the bottom of the lock over an area of between 150 and 200 feet long on the north lock wall and over an area of between 700 and 800 feet long on the south lock wall. Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) personnel will dewater and cover the lock and provide a minimal amount of light in the lock chamber. Work will commence in January 2009 and must be completed by March 11, 2009. The cost range of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. There is a $75.00 US funds non-refundable fee for specifications and drawings. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) package will be issued approximately August 1, 2007 with a bid opening date on or about September 14, 2007. A portion of the contract will be awarded in September 2007 with the remainder being awarded after October 1, 2007 dependent on funding availability. Mail your request for the IFB package along with the above fee to Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, Attn: Contracting Office, PO Box 520, 180 Andrews Street, Massena, New York 13662. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large business. Prospective offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for award. Please register with the CCR at www.ccr.gov. Attention: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers financial assistance to eligible disadvantaged, Hubzone, or service disabled veteran owned businesses. Maximum line of credit is $750,000.00 with interest at the prime rate, as published in the Wall Street Journal, plus 2 points.
