Description

Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Rome, Italy will launch the solicitation on FedBizOpps with the FBO web address. This solicitation will require the operation and management of Local Guard Services in order to prevent unauthorized access, protect life, maintain order, deter criminal attacks against employees, dependents and property and terrorist acts against all US assets, and prevent damage to Government property. The Contractor shall furnish managerial, administrative, and direct labor personnel to accomplish all work as required in the contract. The estimated number of annual hours for guards is 227,000. These requirements may change depending on funding availability in forthcoming period. Anticipated performance is for one base period and four one-year periods at the option of the Government. Major duties and responsibilities are to perform access control to limit entry to only authorized personnel or visitors, the operation of walk-through metal detectors, hand-held detectors, and special monitoring devices. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered. The Government plans to issue the solicitation in the November 2007 timeframe. This solicitation will be issued via the FedBizOpps no paper copies will be mailed. NOTE: The response date in the FedBizOpps is not a firm date. Please see the RFP for the actual date.
