- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma contemplates the acquisition of two crane systems that will meet the specifications listed in Attachment 0001. The FAA's Enroute Support Program is responsible for transporting heavy antenna system equipment through the utilization of two semi-trailers. The components stored in these trailers are required to be moved around both within the trailer and off-loaded. The system will be used to load and unload components such as tools, equipment and antenna pedestal assets weighing up to 2000 pounds. The majority of the Long Range Radar systems are located in remote areas in which standard material handling equipment such as forklifts are unavailable. Currently, a chain hoist is installed in each trailer, however these hoists are underrated for the components now part of the Enroute Support Program's mission. The FAA is interested in locating a firm that is capable of providing the crane systems and is capable of the installation of systems, which will need to be permanently mounted inside two Government furnished semi-trailers. The hoist systems must be capable of operating independently of an AC power source (i.e. run off the truck battery). The crane systems will need to be mounted in two Government furnished 27-foot semi-trailers. Potential offerors should note that the FAA reserves the right to communicate with one or more offerors at any time during the solicitation process.
