- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for one (1 EA) Kulite Pressure Transducer to be used to augment the existing pressure sensors of the exact same type for a planned NASA sponsored flight test. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the item from Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. Kulite's transducers are identical to the existing NASA owned transducers and will provide amplitude and phase matched response to the existing transducers. These additional transducers will significantly extend the array length possible in defining the spatial characteristics of turbulent boundary layers as a source of excitation for aerospace structures. Any other model transducer from other manufacturers will not provide the required matched response and would render the existing NASA owned transducers useless for the purposes of this test. Sole source authority for this procurement is FAR 13.106-1. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 15, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
