- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAVAIR WD), China Lake CA intends to issue a solicitation for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on an other than full and open competition basis, limited to Ford Motor Company F350 trucks. The requirement is for six each F-350 trucks with an option to purchase an additional 14 trucks. The government requires these vehicles in support of a research and development (R&D) project for the fitting and usage of target vehicles. The vehicles shall provide the following capabilities and characteristics: Manufacturer Ford Motor Company; 2008 Model Year; F350 Model Number; 8 Cylinder Engine; Gasoline Fuel Type; Automatic Transmission; Four Wheel Drive Drive Train; 137 inch Wheelbase; Regular/Standard (not Extended cab) Cab Style; 3 each with bench seats, and 3 each with bucket seats (with least expensive interior package, ie: fabric material); Air Conditioning. It is also highly desired, but not required, that the above-specified vehicles have a Drive train Control with Electronic "Shift on the Fly" capability. This requirement is limited to Ford Motor Company F350 trucks as these trucks have been established as the baseline for this R&D project and must be used through completion of the design, development and demonstration of the target vehicles. Delivery schedule is as follows: 6 each due within 115 days after date of award, and option quantities 150 days after exercise of option. Delivery of the trucks will be FOB Destination, China Lake, CA. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Award of this contract is expected to be on or about 9 November 2007. Solicitation number N68936-08-T-0006 will be posted at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 18 October 2007. This request for quote will be using the procedures in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.
