- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to solicit proposals for in-service support and field services, including the repair of all periscope reusable unit shipping containers, Special Support and Test Equipment (SS&TE) and the repair/overhaul/restoration of Type 2, 8, 14, 15, 18, and 22 Periscope Systems, and Improved Non-Penetrating Periscopes (INPP), NESSIE and NESSIE GEN II Submarine Systems, along with new technology Periscope/Imaging systems used on Los Angeles, Seawolf and NSSN class submarines. This contract will be SUBSAFE/Level I. NUWC anticipates a five year, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract. A proposed sole source action with Kollmorgen Corporation, Northampton, MA is anticipated. Kollmorgen Corporation is the original manufacturer for these highly specialized submarine periscopes and they are the only company capable of performing the necessary services. This is a follow on to contract N66604-03-D-1209 with Kollmorgen Corporation. Each year?s quantity for the services is estimated to be 9,900 hours per year. This solicitation will be unrestricted. NAICS Code is 333314; size standard is 500 employees. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 10/31/2007.
