- Description
- The Veterans Affairs Stars & Stripes Network (VISN 4) requires a contractor to provide labor, materials, tools, equipment (including weights and their handling), transportation and qualified supervision to perform semi-annual inspections, annual safety inspections, and five-year weight test for elevators, dumbwaiters, and vertical transport equipment in the specified VISN 4 facilities. Facilities are located in: Altoona, PA; Butler, PA; Erie, PA; Lebanon, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Wilkes-Barre, PA and Wilmington, DE. This action is 100 percent (100 %) set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns in accordance with 38 U.S.C. 8127. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541350 with a small business size standard of $6.5 million. This acquisition will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The government expects to issue one firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for a period of one base year, with four one-year options. THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE AND NO RESPONSE IS REQUIRED FROM INTERESTED CONTRACTORS AT THIS TIME. A solicitation is expected to be issued on or after November 1, 2007 through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov). Contractors interested in this requirement are advised to register on the FBO website to receive notice of the issuance of and any amendments to the solicitation. The solicitation will be available only online at the FBO website and no paper copies will be furnished to interested contractors. In order to be eligible for award, contractors must: (1) be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (information concerning this system can be found at http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423); (2) be registered as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern in the Vendor Information Pages found on the web at http://www.vetbiz.gov; and (3) demonstrate technical capabilities for performing this requirement as set forth in the Solicitation.
