- The following questions have been raised. Questions and Answers are as follows. Question: 1. First is this a sole source procurement or can any vendor that meets or exceeds the specification submit their products for quotation? Answer: This is not a sole source procurement. Question: 2. Will they be located indoors or outdoors? Answer: The 30KVA unit will be located outdoors, hard wired through conduit into an Avionics Shop for bench power. 400 power cords will be mounted indoors (inside hangar), but reach outdoors and be used on indoor wash racks. Question: 3.What types of aircraft will the 30Kva be used on? Answer: No aircraft, Avionics Shop use only. Question:4. Will the 30Kva unit be stand mounted or trailer mounted? Answer: Stand mounted. Question: 5.What power factor is required for the 30Kva unit? Answer: Power Factor 0.8. Question: 6.How efficient does the 30Kva unit need to be? Answer: Minimum 0.93 at 100% load Minimum 0.92 at 50% load Question:7.Are there any special controls needed for the 30Kva unit? Answer: Be able to turn off/on from remote switch inside Avionics Shop.Emergency shutdown switch in Avionics Shop. Question: 8.Is this to be a supply only contract? Answer: YES.
