- SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT DESC: Under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source to Idaho Technology, Inc., 390 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108 for the providing reagents for use in the DTRA TADR overseas labs. These labs are based on the Idaho Technologies PCR kits and it is essential to maintain consistent, reliable and comparable testing. The same supplier and kits must be used for all related laboratory stud ies. It is paramount that this research project's results be scientifically sound and therefore capable of withstanding the greatest amount of scientific question and scrutiny. The only way to insure the consistency and scientific merit of the tests is f or them to be performed by the same source to reduce any minute differences that can occur between sources and comprise the science. Failure to the PCR kits from Idaho Technology will cause a work stoppage and possible inconsistency in the research that c an harm the scientific merit. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be award on the ba sis of offeros received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received by the closing date of this N otice, the pruchase will be award without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the follo wing email address no later than 3:30pm, Easter Standard Time, 5 September 2007 due to the urgency of this requirement.
