Description
UPDATE: This project has been changed from single-phase to TWO-PHASE design-build. The solicitation, plans, and specifications will be made available on or about 15 October 2007. PROJECT INFO: The project consists of construction of a Company Operation Facility and a Vehicle Maintenance Shop with associated parking. The Company Operations Facility (COF) provides administrative and supply facilities for unit personnel functions and storage of their equipment. This facility will serve as the primary staging, training, and deployment center for personnel and their indiv idualized gear. Interior spaces include office spaces; operations and maintenance area for individual equipment; arms vaults; non-sensitive secure storage; showers and latrines; mechanical rooms; electrical rooms; etc. Exterior construction consists of c overed exterior operations and maintenance area, privately owned vehicle parking, service yard for tactical vehicles, exterior lighting, etc. The site of the COF is an existing site with two softball fields and four tennis courts that will be demolished. The Vehicle Maintenance Shop (VMS) provides spaces for maintaining and repairing tactical vehicles, equipment and parts storage, and administrative offices. The maintenance area will contain a 10 ton capacity traveling bridge crane; hose bibs for compress ed air; welding area; parts and vehicle wash area; dispensing points for grease, engine oil, gear oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze; oil and antifreeze disposal points; a maintenance pit; etc.. The administrative area will provide offices and admin i strative areas; classrooms; equipment storage; tool room; latrines and showers; break room; arms vault; non-sensitive secure storage; mechanical room; electrical room; etc. Exterior construction consists of organizational and privately owned vehicle par ki ng; storage buildings; waste oil and antifreeze storage tanks; etc. The site of the VMS is an existing asphalt paved site with existing buildings. The existing buildings will remain, but much of the asphalt paving will be demolished and replaces with concrete pavement. An existing chain link fence and several utilities w ill also need to be demolished. The Government will conduct a Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit, date to be announced, details regarding the Conference will be provided in the solicitation, Section 00100. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this project is 236220, which corresponds to SIC 1541. The Small Business Size Standard is $31.0 Million. The magnitude of the project is between $10 million to $25 million. This solicitation and its associated information will be issued via Internet only and will not be made available in hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made via Internet only, as well. It is therefore the contractors responsibility to c heck the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation. For security reasons, all technical and engineering data related to this solicitation will be distributed using the Federal Technical Data Solutions (FedTeDS) system. FedTeDS i s a web-based dissemination tool designed to safeguard acquisition-related information for all Federal agencies. Interested bidders must register with FedTeDS before accessing the system.
