- Description
- USSOCOM desires to acquire through full and open competition, a highly reliable, effective and lightweight binocular helmet mounted fusion goggle system capable of successfully operating in a variety of weather and environmental conditions. The lightweight helmet mounted fusion goggles (LWF-HMG) will be developed and produced in two (2) phases, Systems Integration and System Demonstration. The resultant product at each stage will be capable of successfully operating and providing the operator with a reliable helmet mounted fusion goggle enabling him to detect and engage targets in both the visible/near infrared (VIS/NIR) image intensification (I2 channels) and the long wave infrared (IR channel) wave lengths. The solicitation may be retrieved from www.fedbizops.gov on or about 10 Oct 2007. The RFP will call for proposal submissions by approximately 29 Nov 2007. Contract award is forecast during 2nd quarter government fiscal year 2008.
