Description
FISC Norfolk Naval Shipyard Maritime Industrial Division proposes to contract for an annual Indefinite Delivery/Requirements Type Contract for a base year with four (4) one-year option periods for the rental of Air Conditioning/Heating Units as described herein. This requirement shall be processed unrestricted utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures as set forth in FAR PART 13 and as authorized in FAR PART 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Products. The applicable NAICS is 333415 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. Description of equipment: 75 Ton Portable Air Conditioning and Heating unit; Estimated maximum yearly quantity of ten (10) units Unit shall have a rating of not less than 70 tons IAW Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) 210 using R-22. Unit shall have a minimum cooling capacity of 900,000 BTU/hr at 6,000 CFM. When operating in the heating mode, unit shall be capable of delivering a minimum of 421,000 BTU/hr (125 kW) of heat to the air stream (based on change in enthalpy of air and associated moisture on standard psychometric chart) at a flow rate of 6,000 CFM. APPLICABLE TO ALL UNITS: Equipment shall be portable and assembled on a rigid, structural steel, skid base of uniform space dimensions with steel frame of heavy gauge steel channel or angle that is welded, gusseted and cross-braced as necessary to support the equipment and to withstand the stressed, vibration and shock associated with rough handling and transport of the complete air conditioning unit by forklift truck and overhead crane in dockside applications. Unit shall be suitably enclosed for use in a seashore environment where dust, dirt and salt-laden, moist air are prevalent. Maximum size of unit shall not exceed 17 ft long x 10 ft wide x 9 ft high (not including intake plenum which is to be located on the opposite end of the unit from controls). Total weight of unit shall not exceed 14,000 pound unless approved in writing by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Rental shall include equipment delivery, start-up and teardown, training, maintenance checks, repair and/or replacement of units, and technical support.
