Description
Project Size Range/Magnitude: $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Full and Open Competition. Bid/Offer Bond required in the sum of 20% of bid/offer value. Technical/Job Contact: Linda Guy, lguy@fs.fed.us, 775-352-1263 Administrative Contracting Officer: Steve Roehr, sroehr@fs.fed.us, 702-839-5575. Subcontracting Plan required. This project consists of constructing a Visitor Center (building) with plaza, aggregate surfaced service road, and paved parking area; constructing a trailhead with picnic sites, tie racks, precast vault toilet, pathways, and parking areas (part aggregate surface course, part paved surface); and constructing a double-lane paved access road off of SR431 (Mount Rose Highway). The work includes the installation of utilities (water, sewer, electrical, telephone, & LPGas) to serve the site and construction of a septic system and drain field. The project also consists of optional work items that may or may not be awarded. These items include: Option 1 - Constructing a 100 PAOT group sites with site furnishings, a precast vault toilet, pathways, signs, gates, barrier rocks, culvert, water service, and aggregate surfaced loop road and parking. Option 2 - Constructing a second 100 PAOT group site with site furnishings, a precast vault toilet, pathways, and water service. Option 3 - Furnishing and installing a pre-fabricated shelter for the 100 PAOT group site. Option 4 - Constructing the entire water system, except the laterals included in Options 1 and 2. The connections to the existing county-owned water system and the new visitor center shall be part of the base bid. If Option 4 is not awarded, the water system will be constructed by the Forest Service. In this case, the contractor will be responsible for coordinating connections and construction with the Forest Service. Option 5 - Construct and install informational signs and hitch rails. Option 6 - Construct and install a kiosk.
