Description
This is a notification that the Social Security Admistration (SSA) intends to procure the following telephone services from Comm-Works (dba Fortran) of Falls Church, Virginia. The Southeastern Program Service Center (SEPSC) is moving from 2001 12th Street to 1200 8th Street in Birmingham, Alabama. The move will take place over a 6 month period beginning in December 2007. The SEPSC currently obtains it telephone service through an on-site Fujitsu 9600XL digital switching system which is under a maintenance agreement with Comm-Works. A telephone system must be in place in the new location in advance of the move to accommodate 2,000 employees. The contractor must purchase and install 4 additional Fujitsu 9600XL PBX cabinets to extend the PBX to the new building and eventually transfer all telephones and telephone service to the new building. Service from the existing telephone system must be extended to the new building while maintaining service in both buildings. The contractor will plan and coordinate with Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) for the network design, install the required telecommunications facilities, reconfigure the existing system to free up cards that can be used in the system in the new building and reconfigure the existing system to accept 4 unchannelized T1 lines that must be added to the system database via the SITEMAN system management product. SITEMAN is a Comm-Works patented product that only a SITEMAN certified technician can access. Any vendor who submits information for this requirement must provide evidence that they are certified to use the SITEMAN system. This is a notice of intent and solicitation will no be issued. SSA will not respond to request for solicitation copies and will not pay for information received in response to this announcement. Responders must provide sufficient information for SSA to determine that a firm other than Comm-Works can provide the above services. If SSA does not receive an acceptable response within 5 days of this publication, it will commence negotiations with Comm-Works with the intent of issuing it a delivery order for the service.
