- Point of Contact: Sue Valenzuela, Purchasing Agent, Phone 206-764-6691, Fax 206-764-6817 or email susan.m.valenzuela@usace.army.mil The contractor shall repair all voids, including all plug welds, in the existing armor plate in the 9-foot tunnel liner along the entire length of the tunnel (approximately 1580 feet.) The contractor shall prepare the surfaces and fill the voids within the existing armor plate with concrete in accordance with the attached drawings and concrete specification. Work areas shall be prepared for placement of concrete as follows: Maintaining all water away from the areas to be repaired. The Government shall provide empty sand bags and sand for this purpose. Roughening existing concrete surfaces to be repaired to one-quarter inch amplitude followed by pressure washing and removal of standing water and loose debris from the voids. Drying the surface with warm air. Removal of rust at edges of holes in existing armor. For the longitudinal holes located at sides of the tunnel, cut downstream and upstream ends square as shown on the drawings .. Install epoxy anchors in voids that meet the width and depth requirements as indicated in the drawings. Anchors shall be installed in accordance with the epoxy system manufacturers recommendations.
