- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Anacomp Incorporated, 13873 Park Center Road, Suite 210, Herndon, VA 20171 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for the continued maintenance and support of government-owned Anacomp computer output microfilm and printer equipment. FAR Subpart 13.5 applies to this procurement. The computer output microfilm system and printers are used as part of the annual earnings micro film process for the SSA offices located in Baltimore, MD. The Anacomp P630A, P829B, FX/850, XPF2000, XPF2, and XF23 are antiquated equipment which is difficult to maintain and find replacement parts for. Anacomp is the only vendor who has the parts and the background to keep the current operation online. Maintenance shall be required for a period of one year. Maintenance calls average one per week or approximately 52 per year, with a 3-4 hour average time per call. The Government anticipates the award of firm-fixed price purchase order. This is not a request for quotes. Quotes submitted in response to this notice will not be considered. Interested parties that believe they can provide the required service must respond to this notice no later than 5:00 p.m. EST September 19, 2007. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to SSA-RFQ-08-1009. Responses should be emailed to Kristin.Taylor@ssa.gov OR addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants, Attn: Kristin Taylor, 7111 Security Blvd, 1st Floor Rear Entrance, Baltimore, MD, 21244. FAXED RESPONSES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged.
