- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking quotations for Name Brand or Equal Security Equipment for SSA's facility in Durham, North Carolina. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items (as defined by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101) prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested, however, a written request for quotation (RFQ) will not be issued. This acquisition is subject to FAR Subpart 13.5 regarding the application of simplified acquisition procedures under the test program. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered. The solicitation number is SSA-RFQ-07-1840. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-19. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this solicitation is to obtain security equipment for SSA's new facility in Durham, North Carolina. SCOPE: See Salient Characteristics below--all items are Brand Name or Equal. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The provisions of FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items (AUG 2007) are incorporated by reference. FAR 52.212-5 applies as follows: (b)(1), (5)(i); (7), (9), (15), (16), (17), (18), (19), (20), (21), (22), (23), (24)(i), (29), and (34). INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING QUOTATIONS: The provisions of FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (SEPT 2006) applies and is hereby tailored as follows: Paragraph (a) The NAICS Code is 423830, 100 Employees. A completed copy of the representations and certifications at FAR 52.212-3 (AUG 2008 version) is required as part of the offer if your company is not presently in the ORCA database. The following additional information applies: All quotes shall include prompt payment terms; Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS), Tax Identification Number (TIN), and full name and address to whom the purchase order award shall be made out to. All shipments associated with the purchase order award shall be on an F.O.B. destination basis ONLY and shall be shipped to SSA, Attn: Receiving Clerk, Durham Support Center, 3604 Hopson Road, Durham, North Carolina 27709. The resulting purchase order number shall appear on all boxes, containers and cartons. The time of delivery shall be no later than 30 calendar days from the date the contractor receives the purchase order award from the Government.
