This Robotic device will allow the surgeon to take surgical precision and technique beyond the capabilities of the human hand by enabling and improving surgical procedures thus broadening the applications of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). This robotic system is required to be FDA cleared for laparoscopic surgery. The robotic surgery unit will include the capability for Urology- Radical Prostatectomy for prostate cancer, Cardiothoracic surgery (bypass/valve surgery), General Surgery, and Gynecologic Surgery. The system will be a complete solution with no extra components required. An initial suite of surgical case tools and kits normally required for this surgery will be included with this purchase. The vendor has reviewed the physical space and location of the surgical procedure, and has found the site acceptable including all utilities, and controls for this system (no changes in existing infrastructure for utilities is required). All software and system upgrades and updates are included with this system for the first year. Two full maintenance manual/ documentation sets will be included with the device (standard for VA medical purchases). Full medical and administration training on the setup, management, and use of the system will be included ON SITE at the hospital. Robotic Delivery Date. The Company will use every reasonable effort to deliver the System on or before September 30, 2007. The contract will be executed within thirty (30) days before the Delivery Date, a reasonable advance notice of any change in the Delivery Date. The company will have the permit to install the System. Reasonable efforts to install the System in an efficient and expeditious manner will be executed as soon as the System is delivered. On-Site Support. The company agrees to provide on-site support designated personnel, on the proper operation and upkeep of the System.
