Description
The Coast Guard intends to award a "Sole Source Contract" for the purchase of Two Way Satellite Timing Transfer System, (hardware only, consisting of ATS 6502 w/daughter cards, and interface cards. This was initially prototyped under the Loran TFE System and requires a timing synchronization requirement that the LORAN signal be synchronized within 20 ns (RMS) of UTC(USNO) at the point of transmission. The USCG has been working on a two-way time transfer solution for time recovery at the transmitting stations. Two-way time transfer is a GPS independent technique that can easily meet the 20 ns (RMS) specification.
