- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, MD intends to acquire on a sole-source basis pursuant to FAR Part 13.106(b) with Canberra Industries, Meriden, CT, the Genie 2000 and lab equipment upgrade system. (SYS #: 969179) The system will upgrade the Genie 2000 the USUHS currently uses. The existing Genie 2000 will serve as a full backup to the system required by the reactor division. The reactor division routinely uses the detectors and counters from one set with the mainframe from the other. This allows the reactor division to ensure that all license requirements are met within the regulatory timeframe allowed. Over the years, this redundancy has prevented numerous surveillance shortfalls allowing the reactor division to maintain license compliance. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office by September 25, 2007.
