Description
Sources Sought Announcement is provided for industry comment for purchase of BMC Remedy Software. General Information Document Type: Sources Sought Announcement Posted Date: 9/14/07 Response Date: 9/19/07 Classification Code: D - Information technology services, including telecommunications services NAICS Code: 541512 Computer Systems Design Services Contracting Office Address: ACA, ITEC4-West, 2133 Cushing St, Bldg. 61801, Room 3212, Fort Huachuca, AZ 85613-7070 Description of Action: The Government intends to award a contract for Standardized Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software under the authority of 10 U.S.C. ?2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(c), Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy age ncy requirements, Application for brand name description. The COTS software licenses and software maintenance and support will be utilized to support Enterprise Level requirements of added functionality and upgrades to existing licenses in support of the B rooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) IMD Customer Service Desk. Description of Supplies/Services: Standardized COTS software is required for trouble ticket management for network operations for BAMC to track and manage mission critical services, communications network events, outages, restorations and requests for net work services. Remedy software provided by BMC Software is currently used to provide these functions. BAMC requires additional functionality and licenses, beyond what is currently provided in the Remedy software, to support emerging requirements for the BRAC-mandated consolidation with Wilford Hall Medical Center (WHMC). This additional functionality will be provided through an upgrade to the Remedy software currently in use, in conjunction with additional licenses purchased. This software will provide BAMC with operational tools to share information and work orders with WHMC, as well as all other Army and DoD components, if required. The software upgrade will also provide improved service for all aspects of incidents, problems, assets, services, and cu stomers enterprise-wide. Reason for Authoriy Cited: BAMC has used the Remedy software identified above, and earlier versions, since 1998, to serve as the local enterprise solution for its area of responsibility. As a result, this software is thoroughly integrated, compatible and interoperable with its existing systems as well as other BAMC enterprise-level systems. This software is also utilized within the Joint community (e.g., DISA and Combatant Commanders), which gives DoD the capability for total net-centric operations. As such, this Remedy software has become the de facto standard for trouble ticket management for network operations, enterprise-wide, to track and manage mission critical services, communications network events, outages, restoration and request for network se rvices. NOTE: This is only a Sources Sought Announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.
