- Description
- The Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. Every 10 years on April 1st, the Census Bureau conducts a Census of Population and Housing under authority of Title 13, U.S. Code. The Census Bureau will conduct the next decennial Census in the year 2010. The U. S. Census Bureau (USCB) intends to conduct a full and open competition for the Data Access and Access and Dissemination System (DADS) II Acquisition. The period of performance (POP) for the DADS II Acquisition is anticipated to have a nine (9) month Base Period, and eight (8) one (1) year Option Periods. The USCB will issue the DADS Request for Proposal RFP to acquire a Systems Integrator to provide Transition, Development, Enhancement, Replacement, Operations and Maintenance services for the Data Access and Access and Dissemination System (DADS) Program. The (DADS) Program is the primary provider of dissemination services via the Internet for the Census Bureau and a significant provider of tabulation services. DADS comprises a suite of inter related systems, including the American FactFinder (AFF) system for dissemination of data and data products, the Data Product Production (DPP) system for Census 2000 product tabulations, and the American FactFinder Advanced Query (AQ) system for Census 2000 ad hoc queries. The DADS Program is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating these systems. To assist us in accomplishing this objective, the USCB issued a draft solicitation in order seek comments from interested sources that believe they capable of providing support of the DADS program. The draft solicitation is currently posted on the Data Access and Access and Dissemination System (DADS) Website, at http://www.census.gov/procur/www/dads2/index.html. The mission of the DADS Program is to prepare, tabulate, and disseminate data and data products that are complete, accurate, and formatted properly, on time and within budget. The Contractor is considered a full partner with the Census Bureau in all activities leading to the success of the DADS Program. The release of the final DADS II (RFP) is anticipated to be on January 8, 2007. This acquisition is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 15. Interested parties are solely responsible for checking, downloading, and staying abreast of any documents, changes, and/or updates that are the posted to the DADS II Acquisition Website. Technical and cost proposals in reference to the DADS II Acquisition are due thirty (30) calendar days from the issuance date of the Final RFP NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (21-DEC-2006).
