- Sources Sought Synopsis - The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, Aircraft Division, Special Communications Requirements (SCR) Division (Code 4.5.11) is seeking sources for a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Multi-Band RF Power Amplifier that must meet the following specifications: Cover 30MHz to 512MHz frequency range; Shall be JITC Certified for DAMA operation with the AN/PSC-5D as a minimum and with both the AN/PSC-5D and AN/PRC-117F preferred; Provide maximum power output of at least 125W in UHF DAMA/SATCOM mode of operation; Provide maximum power output of at least 100W in Line of Sight mode of operation; Provide selectable output power levels for DAMA/SATCOM operation; Provide input and output impedances of 50Ohms; Accept output VSWR of up to 2:1 while providing full output power; Present no more than a 1.5:1 VSWR to the connected transceiver; Capable of transmitting at input power levels as low as 1 Watt; Capable of accepting up to 20W transmit signals from the transceiver without damage; Require no control signaling between amplifier and transceiver; Provide optional remote control capability (remote control should be possible, but not required for proper operation); Provide external low-noise amplifier as a receive pre-amplifier capable of operation at the antenna site. a. Receive LNA Pre-Amp should be capable of drawing source power from DC biased RF Co-axial cable. b. Either the amplifier or an external device should be provided to place this DC bias power on the co-axial cable.; Weigh no more than 17lbs for amplifier and no more than 4lbs for the LNA Pre-amplifier; The amplifier should be no more than 5 inches high, 7 inches wide, or 14 inches deep; Accept input source power over the voltage range 22 - 32 volts DC; Operate in a temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius; Shall meet shock and vibration requirements applicable to MIL STD 810E; Shall be water splash proof; and Power and Fault indicators are required and output power level indicator is desired. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). It is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition. Interested parties are requested to submit a capabilities statement of no more than 5 pages in length which demonstrates their ability to provide the requirements listed above. You must also provide documentation to support COTS requirements, such as sufficient commercial sales to the general public or how it is offered for sale to the general public in accordance with FAR 2.101.
