- The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) has a requirement to purchase computer hardware, software receivers and matrix boxes that interact with telemetry devices that are implanted into laboratory animals. The Gover nment intends to award on a sole source basis with Data Sciences International (DSI to fulfill this requirement because USAMRIID is currently using several DSI telemetry systems, therefore, the implanted telemetry devices must be compatible with the matrix boxes, receivers, and computers being purchased from DSI. No other telemetry hardware is compatible with DSI equipment that is currently being used in other therapeutic studies at USAMRIID. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not cons idered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed co ntract based on this notices is solely within the discretion of the Government.
