- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to award a contract on a non-competitive basis for the purchase and delivery of a Guava PCA Base System with ViaCount Software. The anticipated award will be made under the Authori ty of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, to Government Scientific Source, Inc., 12351 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191. Specifically, FAR 6.302-1(b)(2), states, the existence of limited rights in data&make the suppli es&available from only once source. The United States Army Medical Research Institute for Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) needs to detect and measure events in cell biology. The laboratory requires the county and viability testing of cells for setting up experiements and measuring results. The instrument must provide both pieces of data in a single mix and read measurement. It must determine live and dead automatically and give indications of the percentage of cells undergoing apoptosis. The Guava PCA System, to our knowledge, is the only suc h unit with all these capabilities. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice.
