Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N68836-07-T-23X2 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Set-aside for Small Business. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-04. The simplified acquisition procedures of FAR Part 13 are applicable to this procurement. 01 Confined Space Training Simulator, 8? x 8? x 40?, ?NEW? ISO Container, double entry cargo doors on one end with interior safety exit system and exterior lock. The unit will have the original flooring removed and replaced with non-slip diamond plate steel. The simulator will have a second level steel floor measuring 8 x 15? with reinforced steel support tubing welded beneath. The second level area will have steel stairs connecting the two levels. The second level will have a square hinged hatch opening for access and egress with exterior lock. The flooring on both levels will be tapped to accommodate steel maze panels which will be inserted into the matching tapped holes in the ceiling and the floor creating a 360 degree pivoting, reconfigurable maze system. The unit will house fifty three (53) maze panels which will be two feet and four feet in width by seven feet. The upper level panels will be the same width and three and one half feet in height. The maze panels will have specialized low crawl, high crawl, high & low crawl & plugs. The panels will be made of steel tubing and steel sheet which will be welded together then coated with an anti corrosive oxide. The maze will house three attic obstacles with electrical entanglement, three ramps and three tunnels. The unit will have a hinged steel shoring prop measuring approximately three and one half feet wide by fifteen feet in length. The operating position of the shoring prop will be at forty five degrees and is designed to lock and release as needed for shore wedge training. The Shoring prop will have a twelve inch wide by fifteen feet long reinforced steel plate along the active shoring portion of the prop for added durability. The unit will have a square hatch opening for access and egress to the shoring prop. The unit?s ceiling will be reinforced with welded steel tubing designed for the maze grid and rigid roof top. The rooftop will be covered with grip tread expanded steel. The unit will have one and one half inch by one and one half inch OSHA compliant steel guardrail system measuring forty two inches high around the perimeter of the roof top and will incorporate an eight foot high by eighteen inch wide steel ladder mounted to the side of the simulator. The rooftop will have two manhole openings on either end with manhole covers and reduction rings designed to decrease the opening from 24? to 18? in diameter. The unit will have a five foot long by three feet high tanker prop which will bolt into lace above one of the manhole openings on the roof. The tanker prop will have a corresponding hatch opening for access into the interior of the unit. The unit will have an interior attached culvert pipe descending into a ?T? shape with one direction exiting the unit on the side with a sliding round hatch cover, and the other direction into a ninety degree turn and exiting into the interior of the maze portion o f the unit. The unit culvert pipe attached horizontal to the roof top that connects into the side of the tanker prop. The unit will have a three foot wide by six foot eight inch steel man door welded into the side with security lockset and deadbolt. The training system will be primed and painted with an alkaloid heavy duty coating the color of customer?s choice. All interior and exterior surfaces are coated to resist corrosion. Unit pricing to include set up and product training.
