- The following FedBizOpps Numbered Notes Apply: 1 and 8. Development of 120mm Flow Formed Tubes Contractor is requested to assist the government in producing a flow formed tube configuration which meets the dimensional requirements of attached Drawing BL-47594 Titled 120mm FLOW FORM TUBE. Tasks shall include the following: 1. The contractor will first review Drawing BL-47594 and determine whether they can produce flow formed tubes that meet all requirements shown on the drawing. If not, the contractor should as part of their quotation, provide a narrative explanation of th e drawing requirements they are unable to meet. 2. Based on the contractors experience and knowledge of flow forming they will develop a preform drawing which defines the starting material to be fed into their flow forming machine to produce a flow formed tube as defined by Drawing BL-47594. This preform drawing shall include all dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, wall thickness variation and material condition required for facilitating the flow forming process. 3. The preform drawing shall be provided to the government within 45 days of award and the government will machine all of the preforms required for flow forming the prototype tubes. The material used in producing the preforms shall be furnished by the government. It will be forged material and in the condition requested by the contractor. 4. The contractor shall provide to the government eight (8) flow formed tubes which meet the dimensional requirements of Drawing BL-47594. All completed flow formed tubes along with required documentation should be delivered to Watervliet Arsenal within 1 20 days of the contractor receiving the required preforms and any special tooling provided by the government. 5. The contractor shall determine how many trial preforms will be required to develop their flow forming parameters to insure the required deliverables in paragraph 4. 6. The contractor shall perform the following inspections on all tubes flow formed as part of this effort: - record all dimensions as specified on the flow formed drawing. - record ovality of the bore at each end and at mid length. - record wall thickness variation at each end and at mid length. 7. All material provided by the government will be stamped with an identifying number. These identifying numbers shall be maintained throughout all processing steps. 8. All material provided by the government shall be shipped back to Watervliet Arsenal along with all documentation of work performed (see paragraph 6 above). Each preform processed shall have separate documentation with the identifying number clearly sho wn. 9. Any special tooling (see Notes: paragraph a) required to perform this Scope of Work shall be considered government property and will be shipped back to Watervliet Arsenal as part of the deliverables. NOTES: a.) If the contractor would like the government to provide any special tooling required completing this scope of work, this request should be noted in their quotation along with basic material requirements to supply this tooling. After contract award the contractor shall submit complete engineering drawings of any tooling required within 45 days of award. This tooling would be shipped to the contractor along with other material supplied as preforms. b.) The contractors quotation shall include a brief description of the work they would perform to satisfy all paragraphs above along with their estimated material requirements. This would include how many pieces they estimate would be required along with the material size for each piece before machining into a preform.
