Description

NEED: This acquisition will be for additional fuzes to support engineering tests, evaluation and product improvement of the modified M201A1 fuze, designated the M208 Smoke Pot Fuze via modification to the existing M201A1 fuze contract; FSC 1330, NAIC 332993. This will be a sole source award to Combined Systems Inc (CSI). CSI is a current producer of the M201A1 Fuze, who already has the technical, manufacturing and pyrotechnic handling and mixing skills required to currently produce the M201A1 Fuze. The M208 Smoke Pot Fuze is part of the M201A1 family of fuzes. Their pyrotechnic expertise includes processes to maintain burn rates for consistent and reliable pyrotechnic formulations. CSI also has inventory of the common M201A1 components, will emplo y tooling and fixtures form the M201A1 production line, have adequate technical capability and skills similar to the M201A1 fuze plus have manufacturing and testing capability similar to the M201A1 fuze. FOB Destination: Picatinny Arsenal. U.S. Army Sust ainment Command (ASC) intends to award a Request for Proposal Contract on or about 19 October 2007. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price, small purchase contract. All contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense (DoD) must be registered in the Central Contractors Register (CCR).
