- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Electronic Proving Ground, Fort Huachuca, Arizona is soliciting proposals for the following requirement: 1 each, Log-Periodic Antenna (LPA) System that provides constant high intensi ty fields for RFI and EMI testing in and out of a shielded room. LPA System Description: The LPA system shall consist of a log periodic antenna (LPA) and a heavy-duty non-conductive support and positioner on which the LPA is to be mounted. The LPA shall be a robustly designed wide band, 26 to 250 MHz, high gain, log periodic antenna that utilizes a -bent element- approach, thereby providing a size reduction of approximately 60% without sacrificing key electrical performance such as gain and beam width. Th e robust design shall accommodate the high input power levels up to 15 kW power necessary to generate significant E-fields. The LPA shall be calibrated for RF emissions testing. The LPA shall be provided with a wall bracket and two non-metallic masts, 4 fe et and 6 feet for vertical mounting. It shall also be able to be mounted in two perpendicular planes with the antenna positioner. The LPA shall allow polarization change (90? rotation) without removing an element of the antenna.The positioner shall be a he avy-duty non-conductive support and positioner for the high gain log periodic antenna. It shall be built on casters for easy movement in a shielded room or open site testing. It shall allow positioning of the antenna for either vertical or horizontal polar ization as well as permitting the antenna to be tilted 30 degrees. The height adjustment shall be from 1.75 meters (68.9 inches) to 3.0 meters (118.1 inches), measured from the floor to the centerline of antenna. The positioner shall be able to hold reliab ly the LPA which weighs up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs). The primary structure of the positioner shall be constructed of PVC and Delrin and the weight of the positioner without the antenna shall be approximately 30.8 kg (68 lb). LPA System Requirements: The LPA s ystem must be delivered within 45 days of purchase. The LPA system shall include minimum 1-year warranty parts and labor.
