- NASA/DFRC has a requirement for twelve 16HD miniature pressure scanners and accessories. These sensors are used to measure static pressure on the heat shield and outer mold line of the crew module. The specifications are: 16HD-0703020301 16HD miniature pressure scanner (qty 12) Purge Manifold 0.063?, 90 deg, 0.35? Temperature sense with calibration +/- 15 psid Full Scale Pressure 1 FT cable length Standard output voltage (2) TLCB-1000100000 TLCB ESP 16HD Adapter cable (qty 12) TLCB Cable to have Teflon jacket NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Esterline Pressure Systems. Dryden?s pressure calibration laboratory is already equipped with the interfaces necessary to calibrate these sensors. Also, the sensors currently being used are from the vendor Esterline Pressure Systems. Any other pressure system would require in-house development of the interface to the CEV data acquisition system. By replacing the current sensors with the same type from the same vendor, this will ensure savings through inoperability, parts sparing and resource sharing. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 22, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
