- The U. S. Department of Commerce/National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration/NESDIS intends to negotiate with the California State University, Los Angeles, CA on a sole source basis, under the authority of 41 U. S. C. 253 ( c ) ( 1 )., only one responsible source. It is believed that only this entity can satisfy the agency requirement to provide support and participation for the annual Satellite and Education Conference. This conference is sponsored by the Satellite Educators Association (SEA) in partnership with academia, federal agencies, and private industry. This conference focuses upon the ways in which educations could use data from polar-orbiting satellites through the use of direct readout station at schools. By partnering with the university community, other federal agencies, and private industry, NESDIS is able to multiply its outreach. This procurement is being conducted per FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE$100K) NAICS code 611310. Interested persons may identify their interest and must demonstrate their capability in order to be considered for the opportunity. This is not a request for competitive proposal. No competitive solicitation is planned, information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not to open up to competitive procedures. Note 22 applies.
