- Description
- De-Icer for Ellsworth Air Force Base ? Trailer unit with a 45 ft. (13.7 m) swath and a control system for Anti-Icing and De-Icing. ? This trailer unit will have chemical delivery from a 1,100-gallon stainless steel tank. The unit will have self-contained power unit and pump to accurately apply the De-Icing fluid. The unit?s spray boom will allow the operator to spray from 8' to 45' (2.4 - 13.7 m). The booms will be constructed to break away with a positive release so no damage is minimalized to the boom or the object. ? The application rate is controlled by a computer control system. The unit?s system will allow the operator to select the rate desired. The unit?s computer system will have the capability to GPS interface enabling measuring and tracking chemical dispersal. Once the rate is set, the control automatically maintains that rate regardless of the vehicle speed. The unit cannot have a wheel driven chemical dispersal rate. ? The trailer is built with heavy-duty construction forming a tandem axle suspension. The trailer will be equipped with surge breaks ? The unit will be completely self-contained, (independent power and pump system, per RPM with a sensor, and braking system) a dedicated tow vehicle will not be required. ? The unit will have a 1,100-gallon (4164 L) tank capacity which permits coverage up to 2,200,000 square feet (204,400 m2) the application rates will be from .5 to 2 gallons per 1000 square feet (1.9 ? 7.6 L / 93 m2). The unit will also have an electric rewind hose reel. The hose should be 50 feet long and have a spray wand.
