- The Department of Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Healthcare System Medical Center (VAECHS), located in Denver, Colorado is seeking a qualified licensed contractor to perform Class II Asbestos Abatement of approximately 6000 square feet of vinyl floor tile and mastic on the 8th floor of Building 1, at the Denver VA Medical Center. The selected firm shall provide all site area preparation, abatement and decontamination/final clean-up on the project in accordance with established state and federal regulations and VA specifications for floor tile/mastic asbestos abatement. The proposed solicitation will result in a firm-fixed priced contract and will be issued in accordance with FAR Parts 15. The selection criteria include in descending order importance: (1) specialized experience of the firm, both prime and consultants, in asbestos and mastic abatement in a healthcare environment; (2) professional qualifications of the firm's staff and consultants assigned to the project; (3) past experience working on VA facilities and/or Government; (4) geographical location of the firm within a 100 mile radius of the ECHS Medical Center, Denver, Colorado; (5) ability of the firm to begin the work within 30 days of award of the contract; . All interested firms who can meet the requirements stated above should respond, in writing, with information describing their interest, capabilities and geographic location to the Contracting Officer shown above no later than 4:00 p.m. (Mountain Time), Friday, September 14, 2007. Solicitation VA-259-07-RP-0243 has been assigned and should be referenced on all correspondence regarding this announcement. NAICS Code 562910 is applicable to this acquisition with a size standard of 13 million. Solicitation documents will be available electronically on or about Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the FedBizOpps website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. NO HARD COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. Interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.11, prospective contractors are required to have an active registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and FAR Part 4.12, prospective contractors must complete electronic online annual representations and certifications (ORCA) databases prior to award of a contract.
